John has been playing around the London acoustic circuit since before the dawn of time, and has known Phil almost as long. Phil invited him on the show as a guest and happened to mention that he'd need a separate mixer and someone to operate it the following week, and so John's been making intermittent trips back to the SW1 studios to record sessions ever since, as well as making this website. For this (setting up microphones) he's been given the exalted title of Engineer, though he always thought that was someone who designed suspension bridges.

John spends a lot of time playing the guitar, trying to write songs and hoping that no one will ask him to design a suspension bridge.
